The sun shines bright on this beautiful day in Lilycove City, the Vital City Tournament is in full swing and Caesi can feel herself getting more pumped up with every battle with Rhodi by her side! Of course its still only the first couple of battles for her, but winning the first few had to be some kind of good omen right?

She approaches her opponent with a cheerful smile on her face and her Iron Jugulis at her back, arms tucked behind as she introduces herself. "I'm Caesi, it's a pleasure to meet ya! I hope we can have a great battle together!" Rhodi's speakers rumble ominously as it narrows its eyes at the Pikachu below, while its trainer may be all sunshine and smiles, it was a herald of a dark future. To change one's nature was not so simple.

[break][break] Ollie couldn't lie; the sight of the Iron Jugulis behind such a cute girl brought back terrifying memories of the Ultra Deep Sea. 'It's fine,' he told himself. Those were wild. People had tamed dragons before, just like freya morningstar had her hoard of Roaring Moons.

[break][break] His lips dimple into a smile, nodding towards the girl.

[break][break] Tofu darts forward on quick paws, starting off the battle with a TRAILBLAZE. As grass and roots sprout under foot, the Pikachu blazes through easily before jump-kicking towards the dragon's yawning maw.

The start of the battle is sudden and violent as the Pikachu blazes forwards with a rocketing kick to Rhodium's central jaw, yet somehow the iron beast is prepared for such speed as it dashes backwards through the air and lets loose with a gout of Flamethrower from its arms, scorching the electric mouse in midair and burning through the grass and roots sprouting along the ground as it takes to the air and out of reach.

[break][break] Tofu flattens himself against concrete, trying to avoid the worst of the damage, but winces as the attack burns his body. Hissing, the Pikachu attempts to roll to the side and leap away from the worst of the flames. Electricity sparks in his cheeks as he DISCHARGES an attack into the air.

The Paradox is quick on the uptake as it detects an increase in the ion levels of the air, immediately backing off as the Pikachu lets loose with a Discharge of lightning in its direction! One arm points to the ground and fires off a blast of Earth Power, the ground erupting in front of Rhodium and immediately absorbing the electricity before it could hit the Iron Jugulis, while the other arm swerves around to fire off a Dark Pulse of energy as a counterattack at the speedy thing to keep the pressure going strong!

[attr="class","textbody"] Explosions race across the ground as the EARTHQUAKE sounds, throwing the Pikachu back against the pavement as his electricity is absorbed the force of the impact. Concerned, Ollie shouts out towards him, "Are you okay, bud?"

[break][break] Tofu gives a shout of acknowledgement before getting back to the battlefield.

[break][break] He's ready when the DARK PULSE comes racing towards him, leaping forward with the swiftness of TRAILBLAZE. Foliage rapidly twists in the crevices created by the Iron Jugulis, thorns swelling to fill the empty spaces as the Pikachu sprints across with blinding speed.

[break][break] When he's close enough, he leaps into the air and shoots out an ELECTRO BALL.

Caesi grimaces as the Pikachu gets back up and shakes off the damage done to it, the little lightning bolt was hardier than most Electric types usually were. And Rhodium was running on full cylinders firing off all these different attacks sequentially, it was only a matter of time until it took a strong hit, the future was fast approaching.

And it does its damned best to try and keep the Pikachu away with another series of Dark Pulses, but this time Tofu is just too fast as it weaves its way in between attacks, a trail of natural growth sprouting from his trail as he leaps up and lobs a blisteringly fast Electroball right at the Iron Jugulis's frame, finally landing a devastating counterblow on the flying machine as lightning power lights up the Paradox's body and causes one of its heads to short out temporarily. But the beast roars its fury to the heavens as it flies up and launches a series of Flash Cannons in retaliation, it wouldn't be going down so easy today...

[break][break] But it's a brief reprieve, one that doesn't last because suddenly the Paradox pokemon stirs again, as it shoots off several FLASH CANNONS.

[break][break] "Stay close," Ollie directs. "If you stay close up, he can't get you with his attacks!"

[break][break] Listening to his trainer, the Pikachu ducks down from a stray FLASH CANNON before the energy of a DISCHARGE comes crackling through the air, attempting to shortcircuit their opponent further.

It's an effective strategy and there's not too much Caesi can do to stop it as Tofu continues to stick close to Rhodium and pepper it with more lightning bolts, staying just within arm's reach and not giving the Paradox Pokemon enough room to properly hit the mouse with any of its big elemental attacks. It can feel its body starting to lock up as conflicting electrical signals spike through its system, Paralysis starting to set in as the Pikachu gets its licks in and then some, all Caesi can do is watch as her partner is lit up like a Festivus tree.

"Come on, get out of his reach!" She cries out as Rhodium does its level best to comply, a burst of wind from its wings sending it up into the air, hopefully out of the Pikachu's reach for even a moment so it can catch its metaphorical breath and shake off the rust.

Whatever attacks that don't aim to nestle it's way into the metal's hard exterior bounce off it's from and lick it's way back into the Pikachu's natural LIGHTNING ROD. Like a perpetual cycle of electricity, constantly charging him.

[break][break] It ends when the Paradox pokemon gets to the sky, just out of reach.

[break][break] Or so they think.

[break][break] "C'mon, time to get big!" Ollie shouts, triggering Dynamax. As Pikach surges with power, he grows to the size of a skyscraper, arms outstretched in a powerful MAX STEELSPIKE aimed to pierce the flying pokemon.

This was her first time coming face to face with the power of Gigantamax in person, for a moment the girl is left in pure awe as she stares up at the towering Pikachu. Rhodium itself was naught but a gnat in comparison to this leviathan beast that was focusing all his power upon it, to even think about defying something of this magnitude seemed somewhat absurd in the moment. How could they defeat something this large, it beggared belief.

But the memory of another life empowers her as she stops clicking her nails against the railing, narrowing her eyes and looking up at the Paradox with a firm glare. "We've done this before Rhodium. Evasive maneuvers, follow up with Earth Power." The lights on the Iron Jugulis's body flash affirmatively, steel pillars erupt from the ground aimed right at the robot's body, it looks like its all over from here. But looks are deceiving.

A flash of electricity blankets the sky as Electric Terrain is deployed, the Paradox's Quark Drive roars into action as it bursts up into the air and starts to weave through the massive steel spikes aiming for it, blasts of earthen power fired at the ground and erupting below Tofu's feet as trainer and Pokemon souls harmonize as one. Now it was simply a matter of who would finish first.

[attr="class","textbody"] Gigantamax was an awesome power, but it wasn't infinite. Nothing really was.

[break][break] Ollie looked on in admiration as the other decided on another tactic. That was right! It was better to try then give up.

[break][break] "Careful," Ollie warned, but Tofu was beyond hearing. He was too swept up in his power. This time, when the EARTH POWER hit, it cracked against the larger-than-life pokemon causing him to let a roar out of pain. The MAX LIGHTNING that erupts from him isn't intentional — but a response to the agony that rippled through him.

To view something as impossible was an assumption, the incorrect analysis of past data points forming into defeat before you even tried. In a world where the Infinite resided in everyone, to believe something was impossible was the height of insanity. Man flies on wings of steel, tames legendary creatures once believed to be gods using technology that was once thought to be impossible, we blasted a meteor from the skies and saved the world from utter annihilation.

Nothing in this world is impossible, so even when Rhodium stands up against a kaiju calling thunder down from the heavens to smite it for its sins, it does not falter. It came from a future where man could create life at a whim, bringing down a giant yellow rat was simply another Monday.

Rhodium's Quark Drive audibly hums with power as it soars through the air and blasts past the Max Lightning Tofu summons, faster than even a bolt of thunder, the dark flash is barely visible as a black streak of lines in the air as it scores the Pikachu's body with row after row of Flash Cannons and Flamethrowers from all three maws. Even the gods one day fall, and so it would be today as the Gigantamaxed Pikachu loses its form and collapses back into its petite self.

Rhodium floats back down to the ground with flickering lights in its eyes, steam burning from its chassis as its metal body glows red with heat.
